Dear Friends, We invite you to celebrate the 11th Annual Immigrant Day on
May 21st 2007.
Join hundreds of immigrants and advocates in raising our voices on behalf of
immigrant families throughout the state. This year the Governor’s budget
proposal targets low-income children and families who participate in
CalWORKs. California’s legislators are debating comprehensive reforms to
our health care system. Immigrant Day 2007 will bring a unified voice to
Sacramento in support of immigrant communities and working families.
Join us May 21st in Sacramento!

Dear Friends:

Please join the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) and at the state
capitol in Sacramento on Monday, May 21, 2007 for the 11th Annual Immigrant
Day, a special opportunity for immigrants and advocates from across the
state to meet with their elected officials and collectively show the
Governor and state legislators our support of vital safety net services for
immigrants and the working poor.

This year’s event, “Golden Door, Golden State” will honor the multiple ways
in which California’s immigrants strengthen our communities and our state,
as well as provide an opportunity for advocates and community members to
raise their voices on behalf of immigrant families throughout the state.
This year the Governor’s budget proposal targets low-income children and
families who participate in CalWORKs. California’s legislators are debating
comprehensive reforms to our health care system.

In order to ensure the success of Immigrant Day 2007, we need your support.
First, we hope you will be able to attend the event on Monday, May 21, 2007.
In addition, we would like to ask for your financial support to help defray
the costs of travel, lodging and meals for Immigrant Day participants. For
many, Immigrant Day is their first opportunity to meet with their state
representatives to discuss the issues that impact their daily lives. Please
indicate the level of support you can provide by faxing or emailing this
